Garowe, 22 October 2025 — Manaal Relief Foundation (MRF), with the generous support of GIZ and close collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Family Development Affairs (MoWDAFA), conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Training for its staff and volunteers.
The opening ceremony, held at AJJ Hoteal, marked an important milestone in strengthening the implementation and impact of the FGM Prevention Project. The event brought together representatives from MRF’s senior management, highlighting the importance of the training and reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing Somalia’s national efforts to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
The training, led by Ms. Ruqiyo, MRF’s Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, aimed to enhance the technical capacity of MRF staff, volunteers, and COIN Fund partners in project monitoring, data management, and results-based reporting — all essential components for improving program effectiveness and accountability.
In their opening remarks, MRF’s Executive Director Avv Ahmed Issa and Ms. Ruqiyo training facilitator andemphasized the importance of evidence-based programming in accelerating progress toward eliminating FGM. They highlighted that effective monitoring and evaluation practices are vital to measure impact, inform decision-making, and ensure the sustainability of interventions.
The launch of this training underscores MRF’s ongoing commitment, alongside its partners, to empower communities and advance gender equality through coordinated and data-driven action.
