Manaal Relief Foundation (MRF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Development and Familly Affairs (MoWDAFA) has conducted community-based FGM Prevention awareness- raising sessions and dissemination of FGM Prevention harmonized messages in Birtadheer kalabayr and Sinujiif villages of Garowe District.m Nugaal region. The purpose of this initiative was to engage women grandmothers and other influentials as well as local community schools for advocacy to end FGM.MRF works in close partnership With GIZ Somalia on project implementation “Improvement for prevention of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Garowe, Nugaal Region, Puntland State of Somalia” under the FGM COIN-Fund Prevention program supported and funded by German International Cooperation, GIZ This project partnership aims at improving FGM awareness-raising and information initiatives at the community level.
