Puntland Human Rights Defender

Today, July 19, Mar Said Mumin who is a lawyer and human right activist was vetted and elected by the Puntland Parliament House as the new Chief of the Puntland Human Rights Office.

Manal Relief Foundation (MRF) congratulates to Mr. Said Abdi Mumin. The new Chief of Puntland Human Rights Commission in Puntland, Somalia.

MRF also sends it’s congratulation message to the former Minister of Women and Family Affairs, human right defender, Mrs. Maryan Ahmed Ali, who contested for the Job and became the second runner-up. It was a tough competition that went through three rounds.

We, MRF expects that the new Chief of Human Rights will live up to his promises and address the daily human rights abuses in the country and promote the protection of the rights of all people, especially the most vulnerable such as children, women and girls. and refugees.

#The Human rights defenders are more crucial than ever in our struggle to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure that no one is left behind.

#MRF acknowledges that everyone’s right to defend human rights is fundamental if our human rights are to be respected and protected.

# Injustice anywhere is a threat to Social justice and Peace everywhere.

#MRF Voluntarily advocates Human Rights for IDPs, Refugees and disadvantaged women, children and girls!
